Earlier we discussed the effects of glucose spikes on your long-term health and also described the benefits of keeping glucose levels stable. Next I will show you some habits that you can implement to keep your glucose levels stable and avoid glucose spikes.
- Eat your foods in the correct order:
- The first thing you should eat is your vegetables, it can be your fresh lettuce salad or cooked vegetable salad.
- The next food that I recommend you eat is your protein, it can be meat, eggs, cheese, among other sources of protein.
- And finally you must eat your carbohydrates, these can be tubers, cereals such as rice, quinoa, oats or bread.
- Add a vegetable dish to your meals
- Instead of eating a sweet breakfast, choose to eat a savory breakfast, for example, a toast with avocado or 1 scrambled egg with tomato and tortillas.
- Eat whole fruit and not in juices.
- Incorporate vinegar into your routine. Dilute a tablespoon of vinegar of your choice in an 8 oz glass of water, and drink it 30 minutes before meals. Take your water with vinegar with a straw and rinse your mouth after drinking it so as not to damage your teeth.
